Siena, located in the heart of Tuscany and surrounded by hills, is one of the most beautiful medieval towns' s Italy.Heart of Siena is the famous Piazza del Campo, with its unusual shell shape, which takes place the famous Palio di Siena. The Palio is a passionate horse race that takes place every year in July and August and its origins seem to date back to the seventeenth century.
According to legend Siena was founded by Senio, the son of Remus, and in town there are several statues of the mythical Romulus and Remus suckled by the wolf. Piazza del Campo is the heart of Siena since the time of the Romans, who had their own Forum here. The field is dominated by the Red City Hall and its tower, called Torre del Mangia. The City Hall, as well as the Cathedral, built during the government of the Nine, which was the heyday of economic and cultural Siena. The palace today houses the municipal offices, similar to the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. The courtyard inside the building also gives access to the Museum and the Torre del Mangia, on top of which, climbed the 500 steps, you can enjoy a splendid view over the city. In the Civic Museum holds some of the finest paintings of the Sienese school. The Consistory Hall offers one of the finest works of Domenico Beccafumi, who frescoed ceilings depicting the cycle of public virtues. In Mappamonto Hall and the Hall of Peace (or Sala dei Nove) then there are true masterpieces: the great Majesty and the equestrian portrait of Guidoriccio da Fogliano at the siege of Montemassi Simone Martini and the Allegories of Good and Bad Government Ambrogio Lorenzetti, considered one of the major cycles of paintings of the Middle Ages.

Location: Buonconvento (Siena). I had the pleasure to talk with Leonardo, the manager of this paradise in Tuscany, and I after we have nicely told about football and his career, we got a jeep and went around the estate. Along the routes available also for bikers and trekking path, I immersed myself in the real Tuscan Landscape, the one many time I have seen on Tv advertise! To me, this is the best place I have found in Tuscany, no other words can describe the panorama, the relaxing atmosphere, from the top of the hill, where a holm oak of 400 years dominate the valley… The apartments and the room are located in different building, all spacious, clean, and bright. At disposal of the guest there is: swimming pool with panoramic terrace (breathtaking!), a horse riding, beauty Farm (sauna, Turkish bath, massage, etc.), and above all, a superb restaurant.

This nice Holiday house near by Siene is called Villa Elisa, a property born from a renovation of an old rural house, in the area of Siena, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza. From the garden every day, (depending on the season) every guest can buy the vegetable just picked from the fields (carrots, salads, eggplants, etc.) The apartments are really spacious and well-furnished, ideal for family of 4-6 people or a couple that likes to keep the privacy.
