In recent years, Sicily has started to exploit its enormous natural, historic and artistic resources, becoming one of the most visited destinations in Italy. A Mediterranean climate and wild nature, wonderful islands and inlets, active volcanoes, mountains and plains, and the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean …
Scopello and the Zingaro Reserve natual
Scopello is a small village built around the eighteenth century around a typical "Baglio" and although it is now a holiday resort, has kept its simplicity. Scopello is perhaps the most charming and picturesque of the whole Gulf of Castellammare. In its beautiful bay, bounded by cliffs and protected by old towers, is the trap, now in disuse, but remained active until a few years ago.
Its clear waters extraordinary delight the bathroom with a wonderful view of the rocky seabed rich underwater vegetation.
Scopello is hidden and very few are overlooking the sea, walking the streets, accompanied by the smell of jasmine still blooming in November, one wonders why you can not see the sea, only coming to instill road, leaning in the bushes you can see this enchanting that you get tired of looking.
Integral Reserve Zingaro
The first kind of integral Nature Reserve in Sicily, established the Zingaro Nature Reserve, able to save a seven kilometers of beautiful linear coastline and nearly 1,700 acres of unspoiled nature.
The reserve can be visited only on foot: nothing should disturb the forty species of birds that nest here (including Bonelli's eagles, buzzards, red kites, kestrels) and the endemic fauna. Many plants that grow here are rare and characteristic of the area, the trees that live on the slopes of hills that fall within the reserve are carob trees, olive trees, ash, some cork trees, plants and more frequent euphorbia lentrisco.
The Reserve of Zingaro is famous for its deep blue sea, its quiet coves and protected by steep cliffs where the hawk circling in search of prey, for its clear waters rich in fish and underwater caves. But not only that. The reserves include several peaks that reach a maximum height of about a thousand meters, and if near the coast have been the testimony of the life of eight thousand years ago - Uzzo cave - inside are still visible remains of a peasant much more recent, it deserves to be remembered.

Paloma is a beautiful villa with private swimming pool, situated along the roadwhich leads from the Guidaloca bay to the ancient village of Scopello.Surrounded by a well tended garden with lawn, palm trees and Mediterraneanplants, the villa offers a beautiful swimming pool and large terraces with sea view equipped for outdoor living. Its cosy, bright, well proportioned interiorsare tastefully furnished with all mod cons.To visit: Trapani salt pans, the beach of San Vito Lo Capo and the close Zingaro nature reserve - a designated area of outstanding natural beauty that amazeswith its unspoilt white coves, crystal clear waters, rock stacks and cliffs!

Villa Scopello is a wonderful holiday house in Scopello! Totally independent, with a well kept garden where bougainvillea and flowers blossom, cute swimming pool, lots of space outside and above all a super panorama on Scopello and Castellammare del Golfo. Pippo and Margherita built this house reconverting an old “casetta” with care and good taste. Well furnished, with stereo, nice interior, fully equipped kitchen, the villa has 3 bedrooms (1 double room, 1 twin room, 1 quadruple large room on the first floor) and 2 bathrooms, split over two floors. The best, for me, is the big lounge outside, with a table for 10 people and another open space kitchen, of course fully equipped. Wood oven and barbecue are built in stone and available for the best dinner all year long! The beach of Scopello is just at a distance of 10 minutes by car. Villa Scopello is the ideal place for families or groups of friends looking for a quiet spot, panoramic view, comfortable house and lots of space to live outside. The house is available all year long, and in this area of Sicily it is usual to have a swim in December of January.

The B&B SchiacciaPensieri is an old house restored in Mediterranean style and run by a young and friendly Sicilian couple: Antonio and Valentina. The B&B is situated on the hill of Casellammare del Golfo, but just 4 km from the city and the beach, and 500 metres from the highway to Scopello, Palermo, Trapani, Segesta, Selinunte and all the major attractions of West Sicily!Wonderful atmosphere with its cosy lounge area where in the evening is idyllic to relax with soft chill out music, on the big sofa under the white porch. The big tree of mulberry in the middle of the garden, several hammocks, the little swimming pool, candles light: all the outside is set to relax. The interiors are made perfect Mediterranean style: colourfully furnished with really nice taste. A big table outside the garden is where the breakfast is served, all together with other guests: the best way to socialize and breathe the Sicilian warm welcoming!Antonio’s brother owns also a lovely sailing boat for your special daily excursion at Riserva dello Zingaro!
