Lecce is called the "Lady of the Baroque", and it is the one that characterizes the Baroque spire, portals, churches, monuments and homes of the historic center of Lecce. Trough Porta Napoli is the access of the old town: from here you can visit some of the most important streets of the city and their elegant eighteenth century buildings. Further along, iesa di Santa Maria della Provvidenza in square Baglivi, and Santa Maria of Constantinopoli in the square Addolorata. In Via Umberto I,  must-to-see the sixteenth century Palazzo Adorno and the Basilica of Santa Croce, the symbol of the city and Lecce Baroque. You will find yourself near Piazza Sant'Oronzo heart of city life, in which stands the famous column of the saint patron.
The good food is everywhere in Lecce: the fruits of the earth and the sea offer a myriad of dishes typical of Salento cuisine in the little restaurant of the historical centre. Negroamaro, Salice Salentino and Primitivo di Manduria are just some of the local wines from Salento, which are characterized by the full body of color and flavor.
